Speech and Language Therapy
These help children to attain communication and learn to feed themselves.
Problems worked on:
- Articulation disorders such as problems with making syllables or saying words incorrectly
- Fluency disorders for example stuttering, where flow of speech is interupted by usual stops, partial word repettions etc
- Resonance or voice disorders eg problems with pitch, volume, or quality of the voice
- Receptive disorders eg problems with understanding or proccesing language
- Expressive disorders eg problems with putting words together, having a limited vocabulary
- Cognitive communication disorders eg problems with communication skills that involve memory, attention, perception, organization, regulation and problem solving.
- Feeding disorders eg chewing, swallowing, coughing, gagging and refusing foods.
